Jeremy & Ruby

Yesterday we celebrated the wedding of Jeremy and ruby at the Ashburton New Life Church.

When I met with these two love birds a month ago and heard their love story I was so excited to share it with you all here on the blog!

Jeremy and ruby were destined to be together ( met through church and after a lot of hard work from Jeremy and a wee push from Ruby’s mum they were head over heels ) Jeremy grew up in Timaru and Ruby just up the road in Ashburton where her Dad is the pastor of the New Life Church, they met at a youth conference at Timaru and it was love at first sight for Jeremy who was drawn to Ruby and couldn’t wait to get to know her! Ruby wasn’t so easy and with a lot of date invites turned down and a wee nudge from her Mum she finally agreed to go on a date with Jeremy... and the rest they say is history, Ruby was head over heels after that trip to Timaru!

Ruby had an inkling that Jeremy was going to propose but just didn’t know when, weekend after weekend when it didn’t happen she had almost given up, when on day they went for a walk in the domain, Jeremy was wearing his PlayStation t-shirt which ruby HATES and she couldn’t see a ring box in his pants so she thought they were just going on weekend walk. Shortly after Jeremy got down on one knee and pulled a beautiful ring out of a chewing gum wrapper! Ruby was thrilled and of course said yes!!

The next year was a busy one for the newly Engaged couple, not only planning their big day but also buying and renovating their first home, that they would soon share together!

Their wedding day was full of love, laughter and tears of joy! Ruby got ready at her Nans house while Jeremy was at their new home. Rain was on the forecast but they didn’t let that dampen their spirits, both the bride and groom were super relaxed getting ready, enjoying time with family the girls chatting about wedding Pinterest boards and the boys playing PlayStation of course!

Ruby’s dad walked her down the isle and also had the pleasure of marrying them as the pastor of their church. He pronounced them Husband and wife and the guests began to cheer and clap loudly as ruby and Jeremy gave the kiss to end all kisses!!

After the ceremony the rain had well and truly arrived so we decided to head to a local garden centre for the bridal images, followed my Ruby’s old calf raising work shed! It may of been wet but the bridal party huddled together and had the best time hanging out and getting some absolutely stunning photos.

While we were off getting photos Ruby’s mum and a team of helpers were transforming the church into a reception wonderland, the ceiling and walls were draped with fabric and fairy lights and the rows of chairs had become intricate table set ups with salt and pepper favours for the guests! I ended my night listening to their loved ones tell stories about how much love they had for one another and their hopes and dreams for their future together.

Thank you for having me capture your special day ruby and Jeremy! I had an absolute blast you are both beautiful and I can’t wait to capture more photos of you both in the future!
